The Doctor of Missiology (D.Miss.) degree is a theological degree offered by a number of universities, divinity schools, and seminaries. It is conferred after the successful completion of classes and programs that qualifies the recipient for ministerial leadership positions.
A Masters degree in divinity or theology is generally a prerequisite for admission into an accreditted D.Miss degree program. Once admitted, students are required to complete a doctoral dissertation in partial fulfillment of the degree. In addition, most D.Miss. candidates take classes and engage in activities designed to produce a high level of competency in the practical aspects of ministry.
