The Episcopal Church (USA) is currently part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Within the United States, the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church are two distinct denominations, both vying to remain in the global Anglican Communion. A few years ago, there was a rift in the Episcopal Church. Today, Episcopal churches tend to be liberal, while Anglican churches are usually more conservative.
