The Associate of Arts in Christian Education Degree is the first post-secondary degree available for those who are seeking to teach Christian education. This is a two-year degree program that usually requires 60 college credits to graduate with an A.A. in Christian Education from a Bible College.
An accredited Christian Education Associate Degree is geared towards helping students prepare for the rigors of teaching students an education with a Christian focus. While some churches and Christian schools look for candidates with bachelor’s degrees, this degree is accepted as an entry level degree for youth leadership jobs at many churches. Additionally, the A.A. in Christian Education degree is also widely accepted as sufficient education for Christian camp leaders and teacher assistants in Christian schools. It is also a good starting degree for church missionaries as well as church and Christian school support staff.
To be accepted at a Bible College with an A.A. in Christian Education degree, students are generally required to have a high school diploma or equivalent education. Most coursework has a combined focus on enhancing both teaching and literacy skills as well as the beginning concepts of understanding biblical foundations.
